What is it?
On the night of the Closing Ceremony, all participants of HC-APYLS 2008 will put up a short cultural performance. Cultural performances may include showcases of traditional music, songs, dances, practices or even traditional costumes. You are given a maximum of 5 minutes for your performance.
Who will perform?
Schools from each participating country are to collaborate to put up the cultural performance. In other words, there will be one cultural performance per participating country.
When is it?
The closing ceremony will be held on day 10 of the summit, on 23 July 2008.
Where is it?
The Closing Ceremony for HC-APYLS 2008 will be held at The Legends located at Fort Canning Park.
Participants should bring their own logistics for the performance, e.g. costumes, musical instruments, props, music CDs, thumbdrives etc. Technical assistance, e.g. microphones, stands, will be provided
The stage at The Legends is 24ft by 12ft. You are advised to keep your performances within the stage.
Performance music should be brought in Audio-CD format (.cda), with backup copies (any other forms of media storage are strongly discouraged)
If required, all videos should be in .wmv format, stored in a data CD-R
All media should be submitted to Dina or Ze Lei by 14 July, day 2 of the summit.
You are highly encouraged to contact your fellow delegates from your country. Do spend time discussing the cultural performance details, such as, the item you would be performing, the costumes and props you require etc. You may use the HC-APYLS 08 online forum
to discuss and share ideas.
3 practice sessions (14 July, 17 July & 21 July) have been scheduled.
